What a little pointing can do

Ridge and hip lines finished with fresh pointing.

The job

Pointing is the finish over the mortar bed that holds the ridge and hip caps in place. Once it cracks and weathers, water can get in under the caps.

These photos show the lines finished: fresh pointing along a ridge on a dark blue tiled roof, and hips running straight down a charcoal roof beside the water.
